A dry screw vacuum pump creates vacuum by transporting and compressing process gas through two precisely engineered, non-contacting screw rotors.
Step 1 – Gas Entry
Process gas or vapour enters the pump through the suction inlet.
Step 2 – Screw Rotation
Two parallel screw rotors rotate in opposite directions at high speed.
Step 3 – Gas Trapping
The screw geometry forms pockets that capture and transport the incoming gas.
Step 4 – Compression
The gas is progressively compressed as it moves along the screw chambers.
Step 5 – Discharge
Compressed gas exits through the discharge side of the pump.
Step 6 – Continuous Vacuum
Continuous gas transport maintains the required vacuum for the connected process.
Because the rotors operate without contact at the pumping stage, the process gas is not exposed to oil or water used as a sealing fluid.
100% Dry Operation
No oil, water or steam is used as a sealing fluid in the vacuum pumping stage, helping prevent process contamination.
Stable Vacuum Performance
Hybrid variable-pitch screw geometry supports efficient gas transport and consistent vacuum generation.
Lower Energy Consumption
Efficient screw design can reduce power consumption compared with conventional vacuum technologies.
Faster Process Cycles
High pumping efficiency can support faster pump-down and shorter batch cycle times.
Harsh-Process Capability
Special alloy construction and surface treatments can be selected for demanding and corrosive process conditions.
High Vapour Handling
The screw configuration is suitable for applications involving significant process vapour loads.
Reduced Utility Requirements
Dry operation eliminates the need for sealing water or steam and reduces associated utility handling.
Process Recovery
Because the process is not contaminated by sealing fluid, valuable vapours and solvents can potentially be recovered downstream.
Dry screw vacuum pump packages can be configured with accessories according to process requirements.
Final configuration should be selected according to the process gas, vapour load, vacuum level, temperature and chemical compatibility requirements.
